Quartz watches

If your watch stops, get the battery replaced as soon as possible, this will stop the risk of the battery leaking and coursing expensive damage.

Jewellery

Don't keep your precious jewellery in a jewel box. It may be handy but if the unexpected happens, it also makes it very convenient for a burglar. Put it in three or four different places, or better still put it in a safe. Jewellery may have great sentimental value, but unfortunately insurance companies will only pay for goods not sentimental value.

Most jewellery can be cleaned with propriety cleaners or a little warm soapy water. But for a showroom finish take it to a reputable jeweller who should have specialised cleaning and polishing equipment.

When buying jewellery do not compare prices just by looking, many items may look very similar but only by feeling the item and looking closely at the finish can you make an accurate judgement. Any jeweller like ourselves, should be happy to weigh the item and give information about stone size, cut, colour and clarity.
